How Jess Uses Vest
“Vest is like my security blanket. It has given me a sense of accomplishment, knowing that I am preparing for my future and I have some control.”

There’s a new app in town and it’s doing more to change the world than finding a better way from point A to point B. Vest, is a cloud app designed to help people living with disabilities and parents of children with special needs in organizing, managing and sharing critical information. Vest has recently made a significant difference in the life of Jessica Weber, who lives with Cerebral Palsy.
Growing up with CP has innumerable challenges, including communicating special needs to caregivers, educators and others that provide support. This inability to communicate makes it more difficult for people living with Cerebral Palsy to be as independent as they would like. Vest is changing that.
Making sure that Jessica’s needs are met has been a life-long struggle for both Jess and her mother, Cathy. Through the years, Jess and her mom have tried a variety of communication systems, but none truly met Jess’ needs…until Jess found Vest.
“I use Vest several times a day. I am constantly updating and going back to find information that I and/or my mom needs. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and update my Vest. Due to my Cerebral Palsy, I also have a learning and developmental disability so I need everything written down, so for me to go into Vest and read everything is very comforting to me.”

Being able to input, access, and safely share critical information in her Vest is now allowing Jess and other users to make great strides towards achieving greater independence. According to Jess, “Vest is like my security blanket. It has given me a sense of accomplishment, knowing that I am preparing for my future and I have some control.”
Vest was developed by special needs lawyer Michael Pearce and his wife Sue, both of whom have worked in the special needs community for over 20 years. While most couples with college-aged kids are planning for retirement, Michael and Sue spent the past few years developing their self-funded SaaS start-up with the ultimate vision of helping people living with special needs.
The result… Vest, a new special needs app that enables people with disabilities and parents of children with special needs to easily organize, manage access all of their special needs and disability information, from any device.
