HTC teases new HTC U11 Plus smartphone on Twitter

HTC has teased a launch date for what appears to be its next flagship smartphone release, the rumoured HTC U11 Plus.

For the past few weeks, we’ve been hearing about a new HTC smartphone that will adopt an increasingly popular slim-bezel design. This phone is said to be called the HTC U11 Plus, and will be a direct successor to this year’s HTC U11.

HTC hasn’t actually announced any such smartphone just yet, but it has posted a mysterious teaser image to Twitter, which gives us hope that the phone is real.

Check it out:

The obvious takeaway from this image is that HTC is going to showcase a new product on November 2, 2017. And the attached image appears to show the corner of a smartphone with a notably slim bezel.

This is important, as HTC rivals have all been rushing to launch handsets with all-screen fronts. For instance, this year we’ve already seen the design adopted on the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, LG V30, and Apple’s new iPhone X. Rival phone maker OnePlus is also supposedly working on a new phone with an all-screen front called the OnePlus 5T – a successor to its four-month-old OnePlus 5.

The HTC U11 Plus is also tipped to feature a large 6-inch LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and will supposedly run on Qualcomm’s new – and extremely powerful – Snapdragon 835 chipset.

Of course, all we’ve got to go on are leaks, rumours, and speculation at this point, so take all unofficial details with due caution.
