KAT WALK, a New Virtual Reality Treadmill Made by KATVR Is Launched on…

No more constraints for VR experience!

KAT WALK is a new omni-directional treadmill for virtual reality. It has been designed to be as unrestrictive as possible giving the user 360 degrees of continuous movement within a small space. It is compatible with virtual reality headset such as Oculus Rift. Now the Kickstarter campaign is live.

Unlike other omni-directional treadmills the Kat Walk doesn’t have a ring around the waist which can feel restrictive, instead it has an over-head support with a suspended harness that can hold up to 308lbs (140kg) in weight. Without a ring or column surrounding you, it allows you to chop, wave, pick, beat, kick, run sharply, swing your arms naturally or put your hands to rest down by your sides, getting closer to a natural walk posture.

About KATVR

KATVR was founded in 2013, with a focus on virtual reality hardware development. Right now we are putting all our efforts into an omni-directional treadmill made for virtual reality. We released the latest prototype at Techcrunch China 2015 to a warm reception. We are so excited about the problems we solved in regards to locomotion and we are eager to share it with the world.
