Samsung One UI 7 arrives on Galaxy 24, Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6

Samsung’s One UI 7 update is finally beginning to roll out for the company’s 2024 flagship devices in the UK, Europe and the United States.

The update, which is built on Android 15, has been long in the works and arrives much later this year than in previous years.

The stable, non-beta version of One UI is currently rolling out to devices like the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, S24 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 handsets. That’s according to posters on the One UI subreddit who’ve flocked to confirm the update is making its way to 2024 devices and some of the best Samsung phones in various territories – including the UK.

So far it appears that users in the beta program are getting first dibs, but SamMobile says all Galaxy S24 owners with unlocked devices are able to install the update.

The update began to roll out on April 7 in South Korea, but there’d been a lack of clarity over when it would arrive on UK soil as Samsung’s announcement post didn’t state a date. Until now the only way Brits have been able to take the full version of One UI for a spin was to buy a Galaxy S25 series device.

The update will bring users of older devices access to the AI-powered Now Bar, which offers real time updates from your most-used apps within the right context.

Samsung promises One UI “introduces a redesigned UI with new icons, new animations and more that help the phone feel fresh, while also sporting new features like a split control centre and notification shade, redesigned notifications and even an updated multitasking menu.”

We got there eventually, guys!

Last year, Samsung got Android 14 and One UI 6 software to the Galaxy S23 series in October 2023! So Samsung is around six months behind schedule this year.

It’s far from all Samsung’s fault. Google’s delayed release of Android 15 meant Samsung was always going to have its work cut out to get the update to users in good time.  We’re just glad the wait is over.
