CD Projekt RED’s Lead Engine Programmer Balázs Török shared some information with The Witcher Hungary.
Török revealed that the PlayStation 4 Xbox One versions of The Witcher 3 will be using a “proprietary”temporal antialiasing technology, which will be discussed at a later date

A proprietary Temporal Anti-Aliasing technique is used that we are proud of, but we’ll talk about it more when everyone can see the results.

Temporal antialiasing, removes temporal aliasing in a scene, something of particular importance when dealing with moving objects and characters.

Török also explained that while The Witcher 3 won’t support DirectX 12 at launch, the team will think about it for the future, as the new API becomes available to the general public,

Unfortunately the DX12 support is not possible, because players wouldn’t be able to use it right now. As will be available to the general public, I’m sure that we’ll think about it.

Windows 10 being a free upgrade for its first year after release, will certainly result in a faster adoption rate for the platform, and subsequently for DX12. The new API will definitely help with performance in a title as demanding as The Witcher 3, and users with relatively less powerful gaming  systems could benefit immensely.

The Witcher 3 will release on May 19, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. We will bring you any new information on the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, prior to its releases as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, you can check out more on the game in our previous coverage, here and here.
