Vampyr gameplay – how does it play?
Much like DONTNOD’s previous efforts Vampyr is a third-person role-playing game that places a focus on player choice and morality, putting you in tense situations where your actions will have unavoidable consequences.
His previous occupation as a doctor gives Jonathan Reid a natural urge to help people, although this is unfortunately contested by his thirst for blood as a vampire. This moral dilemma will likely play a large part in Vampyr, in which the player must decide which is more important.

Whom you feed on and why will be implemented into the moment-to-moment gameplay, with Reid forming relationships with characters he can later decide to feed on, changing the unfolding narrative as a consequence. Blood also acts as your health, with Reid requiring to feed during combat to keep himself alive instead of stocking up on the usual med-kits.
Vampyr’s combat is set to be a mixture of ranged and melee combat with Reid having the ability to craft a variety of different tools. With ranged weapons, special ammunition can be crafted to take advantage of enemy weaknesses. In addition, stealthily feeding on foes before looting them for crafting components could give you an eventual upper hand in battle.
Enemy types in Vampyr can vary, with Reid confronting humans, vampires, and other supernatural creatures. All will behave differently, meaning a new approach is required to best emerge unscathed. Whether you take out enemies quietly, with a bang or avoid them altogether.
